How to find us.

If you are using sat nav the postcode of the Post Office in Wardle Village on the approach to the reservoir is OL12 9NT.

OS grid reference for the Club is SD 912182.

Directions to West Pennine Windsurfing Club, Watergrove Reservoir, Wardle, Rochdale

There are 2 options:

Leave M62 at Rochdale J20 and come past Rochdale town centre. Click for directions.

Leave M62 at Milnrow J21. Click for directions.

The reservoir is situated above the village of Wardle near Rochdale, Lancashire about 6 miles from Junction 21 of the M62. The road changes to a cobbled surface above Wardle village. Follow it until you reach the Public carpark under the reservoir wall. The entrance gate is in the far right of the carpark.

Or from M62 J21 simply follow the directions below - you decide.

Leave M62 at J21 and follow signs for A640 (Elizabethan Way) for Milnrow. Coming from the direction of Manchester, you will go straight on through 2 roundabouts and then left at the 3rd roundabout at the bottom of the hill. You are now on Elizabethan Way.

Go straight on for about 1 mile, passing the Wishing Well pub. You'll go through one set of traffic lights, then after another 0.5 miles go over a canal and then come to a 2nd set of lights with Range superstore on the left. Turn right at these lights.

You are now on Albert Royds Street. It's a wide road. Carry on for 1 mile, over the river and to a roundabout. Turn right onto the A58 Halifax Road.

After 1/2 mile there is a mini-roundabout. Turn left here between The Bulls Head and a shop painted a very vivid blue colour.

Continue up the hill (Wardle Road) and take the left at the mini roundabout opposite a shop (this is Ramsden Road).

Follow Ramsden Road through Wardle village. The road changes to a cobbled surface as you go up the hill. Follow it until you reach the Public carpark under the reservoir wall.

The entrance gate is in the far right of the carpark.

You will need to bring your own drinking water and contact us for the code to the combination lock - see Contact Us.

Dave, the scratches were not there before I left home. Not deep scratches, though, I have got some anti-scratch stuff; youtube makes it look easy to fix, will try my lmited skills

Chris P - 24/05/2020 - 08:36

Pleased to report no scratches on cars yesterday afternoon. It was super gusty! Hoping for a more controlled session this morning, heading up shortly.

Good shout that Dave, there is enough of us on Sunday to do the lookout thing.
