The Reservoir Level, 23rd September/4th October 2018

The water Level on 4th October is similar/just lower than the photos below taken on 23rd September.

On 16th September there was quite a substantial area of island visible. Just one week later only a small island was visible and only just at that. The water level had risen 0.7metres or more due to rain of about 70mm. It's about 4 metres below full. Perhaps we should wish for plenty more wet and windy weather ... or could that be a bit grim?!

The photos were taken on a mobile phone, mostly from distance, so the quality is a bit poor but still gives a useful idea. You'll note that we have a very large sailable area, but do please be careful your fin doesn't ground! Southerly winds will be blocked by the dam for a while too.

Not going today, Met Office says feels like -1/0 degrees, not that desperate for a sail!

I'm thinking about it also Chris I was goi h to sail on the town hall car park but the rain has stopped.

I'm thinking about going tomorrow, Sunday, for a couple of hours. Cold but decent wind and direction, not much rain, mainly dry hopefully. Anybody else fancy it?
