The first sail of 2019 ....?

Those of us who sailed at the end of December had a good session, but gusty and challenging. Well 2019 seems to have started in much the same way. Two of us had a good sail on 5.5m and 4.75m sails on Saturday 12th January, though it was just 7C. The pictures below are from Sunday 13th January when another 2 hardy souls sailed. Although a touch milder, xcweather had forecast a Force 6 Westerly wind gusting to about 45mph. I think that was bang on! It's not for nothing you'll see plenty of white caps and some airborne spray. It's impressive that Dane managed to hold onto a 5.4m sail!

Maybe the sailing will get easier soon ....?!

Windsurf or bike ride Sunday? 3 forecasts - XC says 18mph, Met Office 13 & BBC just 9mph! Guess I'll look at the webcam before 11 and decide. Anyone else?

If we all take a shovel we could dig an East West trench at fwood so we can sail at weekend.

I've looked at maps on xcweather & current f/cast is S wind all w/end - seems settled. Better/only prospect seems to be Watergrove on Sunday? Mild enough.

Fleetwood that is .

If the wind changes to a westerly at weekend the tide times are good for Sa****ay and Sunday. Any takers?

because of a leak in the CH pipework in the clubhouse, the valves on the radiator under the window have been turned off. Please do not turn these back on.
