28th January proved an exciting session ....
We bemoaned the lack of wind on arrival. Sound familiar? Okay it was 11C and we've not seen those temperatures in it-feels-like forever. South Westerly wind, but only 11 to 14mph. Xcweather and BBC had both promised rather more. Oh well, we're here now! On with 7.5m sails and out with big boards. Then it all changed. High teens to mid-20s mph! One out of 4 of us foolishly stuck with the 7.5m - that'd be me. Others changed to 6.5m, but even they couldn't sheet in all the time. 5.5m would have worked nicely. Anyway, at least it was good to try out the new zoom lens .... and here are some of the results ....
Be sure to have a look at the gybes too from the link here or at the bottom of this page.
